Market day

early morning in the anchorage

The rain has passed. I think we were on the very edge of a weather front and didn't get it as bad as they thought we would. No wind to speak of during the night, just lots of rain. Fine day again today - so far.

an army of cocklers is out in the ria
lying peacefully at anchor
It's Saturday and it's market day in Olhao. All the locals bring their home-grown produce down to the town to sell. Including live chickens, pigeons and rabbits as well as the usual vegetables and fruits.

the market is right on the quay
emptying last nights rain out of Joes dinghy

We are now thinking of calling into Morocco on the way down to the Canaries so I am going to do some research this afternoon on where to go. Ah, the internet is a wonderful thing.......
This is all weather permitting of course. Apparently they close the harbours if there is big swell running because they are too dangerous to enter.
